Better Police Service

We live in a political climate where social injustice has been at the forefront of conversation for the past year. One idea put forward that has been gaining momentum with public support is to restructure the police budget in order to provide a safer experience to community members seeking police support, specifically people of colour. In simplest terms this entails spending more of the budget on social workers to assist with mental health crisis’ as opposed to continuing to fund the advancement of weaponry in the police force. This can be the first step to building a better relationship between the police force and the people.
